Data protection
Last updated: July 2026
Your privacy matters to us. Here we explain, clearly, what personal data we process when you use this site, for what purpose, and what rights you have over it.
Data controller
The controller of your data is Peñas Arriba, a mountain and climbing guide in the Picos de Europa. For anything related to your data you can write to us at info@escaladaenpicos.com.
What data we collect
We only process the data you voluntarily provide through the site's forms: when you book an activity (first name, surname, email, phone and any comments you add), when you subscribe to the newsletter (email address), when you leave a comment on the blog (name and email) or when you write to us through the contact form (name, email, phone and your message). We do not collect any special categories of data.
Purpose
We use your data solely to manage and confirm your bookings, answer your enquiries and, if you subscribe, send you news, routes and dates with spots available. We do not make automated decisions or build profiles from your data.
Legal basis
The legal basis is your consent, which you give when submitting each form, and the handling of the booking you request. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Retention
We keep your data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected and, afterwards, for the periods required by law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Recipients
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. To operate, the site relies on technology providers (hosting and email delivery through Amazon Web Services, within the European Union) that process the data on our behalf and with appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability at any time by writing to info@escaladaenpicos.com. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Cookies
This site uses only its own cookies, strictly necessary for it to function (for example, keeping your session in the admin panel). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so there is nothing for you to configure.
